2026.04.10

On March 23, 2026, the Advanced Institute of So-Go-Chi Informatics, Tohoku University, held a hybrid research event featuring regular research presentations, invited talks, and interdisciplinary discussions. The program covered a broad range of topics, including AI, neuroscience, language, education, disaster behavior, and quantum computing. Presentations addressed subjects such as microplastics analysis, consumer behavior toward organic vegetables, fMRI-based studies of cognition and emotion, language processing, speech and educational applications, and tsunami evacuation modeling.

The event also featured three invited talks: Yushi Sugimoto on modeling sentence processing in the brain with language models, Akash Awasthi on Agentic AI for radiology education, and Marcello Bonsangue on the intersection of quantum computing and AI. The program supported online participation via Zoom and concluded with a reception, providing opportunities for both academic exchange and networking.

In total, there were 28 registered participants, including both online and onsite attendees. The event provided a valuable platform for interdisciplinary exchange and highlighted current research at the intersection of AI, human cognition, society, and science.
