Information science and technology, including big data, the cloud, and the Internet of Things (IoT), continue to bring significant transformations to society. At the Advanced Institute of So-Go-Chi (Convergence Knowledge) Informatics, established in April 2024 as the successor to the Advanced Institute of Yotta Informatics, we aim to establish a novel interdisciplinary academic system that integrates knowledge from the human, social, and cultural sciences with data-driven insights from the natural sciences. Our goal is to enable the valuation and effective use of information based on such integrated knowledge.
To this end, we pursue a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach that encourages collaboration and the integration of ideas across science, engineering, the social sciences, and the humanities — all under one roof. We are building a platform for the emergence of wisdom and breakthroughs in ICT that will shape the future.
